Traditions
Acts 2:42 Nights
"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers." Acts 2:42, ESV
Once each week, the community gathers together and participates in Acts 2:42 Nights. These events vary weekly including Worship Night, Karaoke Night, Watch Parties, service projects, and many more opportunities.
Homecoming
Every year, all LEAD LLC students have the unique opportunity to walk in the Baylor Homecoming Parade with fellow residents. We typically carry the iconic interlocking "BU" Balloon!
Friendsgiving
In addition to preparing Thanksgiving meals for the community, we celebrate together! Residents, student leaders, and professional staff members come together to celebrate the holiday and give thanks for our community.
Tailgate and Org of the Game
During football season, LEAD LLC hosts a tailgate with poster-making, face paint, food, and games. During basketball season, LEAD LLC gets to be the Org of the Game. This means we get to enjoy courtside seats complete with t-shirts, pizza, and special spirit items!
Formal and Semi-Formal
Our students and student leaders work hard and they play hard. Once per semester, we throw a dance. Past themes have included "Through the Decades," "Fairytale," and "Safari."
LEAD Awards
In the spring, LEAD Awards give us an opportunity to appreciate and honor each other and celebrate the year.
Waffle Nights
One beloved tradition at the LEAD LLC is Waffle Night! On Waffle Night, Dr. Barr (the Faculty-in-Residence) invites the entire hall into her home for fellowship, fun, and, of course, waffles.
How Not to Fail Events
Dr. Barr is an expert on how not to fail, and she will teach you. Dr. Barr kindly hosts "How Not to Fail" events where she discusses success in studying, writing, and much more.
