Minors
The Introduction to Education class (TED 1312) is one of the courses all of our first-year students have the option to take during the fall semester. It is an excellent segue to the Education major and introductory course to the field of education. If you enjoy this course, we recommend discussing the Informal Education minor or an Education major with your academic advisor.
The Introduction to Leadership class (LDS 1301) that first-year students may take is the first course in a minor in Leadership Studies through the School of Education's Department of Educational Leadership. This class is also a necessary step in earning the Certificate of Experiential Leadership.
Another popular minor is Educational Psychology, which is for undergraduate students interested in better-understanding people and organizational behavior, as well as how to effectively communicate.
We encourage every LEAD LLC student to pursue a minor. These programs offer engaging learning experiences for students and an opportunity for every student to develop holistically. We encourage you to explore the entire curricula and learn more at the leadership program website.
NOTE: Students will have the choice between taking TED 1312 and LDS 1301, depending upon availability. Each LEAD LLC student is required to enroll in either LDS 1301 or TED 1312.
